Statement of Faith
-
We believe in one sovereign God existing eternally in three persons - God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit - one in nature, attributes, power, and glory; that these persons are omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent.
-
We believe that God created man in His own image; that he was created directly from the dust of the earth and not from previously existing life forms; that through the original sin of rebellion against God death, both physical and spiritual, passed upon all men for that all sinned in Adam; that man fell from his state of unconfirmed holiness prior to his original sin into a state of spiritual death, or separation from God. We subsequently believe that all men are born with a sin nature and are in need of reconciliation to God.
-
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ; that He was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, thus becoming God Incarnate, fully God and fully man, existing in one person and without sin.
-
We believe that Jesus Christ , the spotless Lamb of God, was crucified for our sins according to the scriptures as our voluntary and substitutionary sacrifice; that He was buried and arose bodily from the grave on the third day; that He ascended into Heaven and is presently seated at the right hand of the Father where He ever liveth to make intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
-
We believe that the church is not the building, but the body of those who have accepted God’s offer of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, and as such, have automatically have become a part of that body called the church.
-
We also believe that the church as God’s holy nation, are called to give full allegiance to Christ its head and to witness to every nation, government, and society about God’s saving love.
-
We believe that because everything belongs to God, He calls us who are of the church, to live in faithful stewardship of all that He has entrusted to us.
-
We believe that the baptism of believers with water is a sign of their cleansing from sin. Baptism is also a pledge before the church of their covenant with God to walk in the way of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Believers are baptized into Christ and his body by the Spirit, water, and blood "The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also not now save us for it is not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but it is the answer of a good conscience toward God,)
-
We believe that ministry is a continuation of the work of Christ, who gives gifts through the Holy Spirit to all believers and empowers them for service in the church and in the world. We also believe that God calls particular persons in the church to specific leadership ministries and offices. All who minister are accountable to God and to the community of faith.
-
We believe that a limited understanding of these Holy Scriptures can be attained intellectually by all with a mind to do so, but we also believe that it is only through the presence of the Holy Spirit in ones life and allowing Him to be the prime interpreter of these Holy words, that a true understanding as intended by God, can be achieved.
-
We believe that believers should live, as the early disciples did, a life separated from the world and unto Christ and to set standards of conduct that exalt our Lord and His Church. A life of holiness and obedience to God is not optional, but is commanded by Jesus and the apostles as a requirement for those who will enter the kingdom of God
-
(Matthew 7:21; 16:27; Romans 12:1-3; 2 Corinthians 6:17; Galatians 6:14; Ephesians 5:11; Colossians 3:17; Revelations 20:12).
-
Holiness is not prerequisite to, but evidence of, salvation, and as such it is always present among those who are saved (Hebrews 12:14).
-
We believe in the blessed hope - the personal, bodily, visible return of Jesus to this earth in power and great glory to raise the dead, to gather His elect, to judge the nations, and to establish His kingdom upon the earth, a kingdom characterized by righteousness and the ultimate healing of the nations.
-
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust, and in the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.
